The ISE Project

An international team of scholars from 20+ universities and business schools in Poland, Italy, Germany, France, Denmark, Finland, the UK, Australia, the USA, Canada, and Mexico has been collecting data on the experiences of international students. Our Alma Mater, the University of Bologna, is proud to be a founding member of the International Student Experience (ISE) Project. Research in our university is conducted by Prof. Paola Giuri and Prof. Enrico Supino (Department of Management, University of Bologna, and Dr Michal Wilczewski (Visiting Scholar in the Department of Management, University of Bologna). It is supported by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange grant („Exploring international students’ experiences across European and non-European contexts”; PPN/BEK/2019/1/00448/U/00001) to Dr Michal Wilczewski.

We want to offer international students a better deal in the future by developing, among others, language and cultural programs tailored to their needs in the specific academic and country contexts. We are motivated by the sense that international students are culturally and economically important, but sometimes undervalued and badly served.

It is important that your voice is heard. It will help us understand your perspective of studying and living in Italy. If you participate in our research, you will be able to make a real impact on the development of programs in our university, as well as strengthen your prospects on the Italian job market and improve your readiness to contribute to the local community.
